Walden offers traditional course-based programs as well as competency-based programs through Tempo LearningT by Walden.
- Course-based education: Students progress toward their degrees by completing a prescribed set of courses within set time frames. Faculty members lead discussions and assign weekly coursework with fixed due dates.
- Competency-based education: Students in Tempo Learning programs progress toward their degrees at their own pace by mastering competencies and completing assessments. Students have access to their entire program and can accelerate their time to completion by applying previous learning and experience. Programs currently offered through Tempo Learning are Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA), MS in Early Childhood Studies, and Graduate Certificate in Early Childhood Administration, Management, and Leadership.
