Programs

Dental Assistant

If you are looking for a great career, consider our Dental Assistant program. With our Dental Assistant training in Oklahoma, you will learn the skills you need to get started in this exciting career field. You will receive training in chair side dental care, front office administrations, and laboratory procedures.

Our Dental Assistant program also includes an externship component that allows you to gain real-world experience working in an actual dental office. Combining classroom and skills lab training, along with the externship component of the program, will prepare you with the skills and experience that today's employers require.

Medical Assistant/Phlebotomy

If you are thinking about career training in healthcare, consider our Medical Assistant/Phlebotomy program. Aging populations, along with the transition to electronic health records are just two of the factors that are driving the growth in this career field. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the health care industry is projected to see an increase in the demand for qualified medical staff, including Medical Assistants.

As a Medical Assistant, you can become an important part of a health care team. Your responsibilities could include patient records management, medical laboratory procedures, CPR, scheduling patient appointments and measuring vital signs. With Platt College's Medical Assistant/Phlebotomy program, you'll learn these skills and be ready to enter this exciting career field.

Massage Therapy

Becoming a Massage Therapist can be a great career choice for someone who wants to help others and our massage therapy program will give you the skills you need to begin this exciting and fascinating career.

Our experienced instructors work with you in the classroom and the training lab as you master the science behind massage therapy and develop the hands-on techniques that employers are looking for. In addition, our program includes an internship segment that allows you to train with actual clients in Platt College's school-owned massage clinic.

In this program you will learn techniques including Swedish massage and hydrotherapy; along with clinic administrations including patient scheduling with industry standard software.

With massage therapy training from Platt College, you can enter the field with confidence. Upon completion of Platt's Massage Therapy program, you will be eligible to sit for the certification exam offered through the National Certification Board of Massage Therapy and Bodyworks.

Pharmacy Technician

At Platt College, our Pharmacy Technician training program is designed to give you the skills you need for a rewarding career as a Pharmacy Technician.

Through a mix of classroom lectures, hands-on training, and our externship course where you get real training in the workforce, you can get the hands-on experience you need while learning the science behind handling, storing and distributing drugs in a safe and efficient manner.

Upon completion of our Pharmacy Technician courses, you can be ready to apply for positions in hospitals, home healthcare and retail pharmacy settings. If you have an interest in starting a new career where you can serve the healthcare needs of the public, our Pharmacy Technician program could be a good fit for you.

Respiratory Care

As a Respiratory Care student at Platt College, you can gain the skills you need to become an important member of a healthcare team as a Respiratory Therapist. Our Respiratory Therapist training combines in-class course work, hands on training in our simulation labs, and clinical rotations at area hospitals to prepare you for a career as a Respiratory Therapist.

Our Respiratory Care program is accredited by Commissions on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) and upon successful completion of our respiratory care training, you will earn your Associate of Science degree. Program graduates are eligible to take the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) entry-level Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) exam and more advanced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) exam.

Surgical Technologist

Are you thinking about a career in healthcare where you can be an integral part of a surgical team in the operating room? If you are, this program could be the one for you!

Our Surgical Technologist training is designed to provide you with a solid foundation in basic sciences and give you the skills and confidence you need to be an asset in the operating room. Accredited by The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) and The Accreditation Review Council on Education in Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (ARC), this program combines classroom lectures, hands-on training in our operatory simulation lab, and clinical rotation hours at local area hospitals and surgery centers.

Upon completion of this Surgical Technologist program, you will be eligible to sit for the National Certifying Exam for Surgical Technologists.

Culinary Arts

If you are passionate about food, like working with your hands, and would take satisfaction in seeing others enjoying your creations, our Culinary Arts program could be the right degree program for you.

With our Culinary Arts training you will learn from professional chefs in our commercial style kitchens and learn to create a variety of dishes using cooking styles from around the world. Blending both new and traditional preparation and cooking methods, our Culinary Arts program is designed to make you an asset in restaurants and kitchens around the country.

Along with classroom lecture and practicing in our kitchens, you will also have the opportunity to learn in the externship portion of the program where your training takes you on an assignment at local area restaurants and/or commercial eateries for real-world experience. Our students also gain experience working in one of our institution-owned dining establishments: The Union, 2727, and Foundations (link to restaurant pages)

As one of the only American Culinary Federation accredited culinary schools in Oklahoma, and an approved practical test site for ACF certifications, former graduates of this program and others working in the culinary field are able to challenge for certifications on-site at Platt College.

Pastry Arts

If you enjoy baking, like working with your hands, and like creating food items and dishes, our Pasty Arts program could be the right program for you.

Designed for aspiring bakers and pastry chefs, our Pastry Arts training in Oklahoma will give you hands-on experience learning with our professional chefs. In our commercial style kitchens you will practice a variety of baking techniques where you will learn to bake artisan breads, craft delightful desserts and create traditional pastries from scratch, and more.

Hospitality & Restaurant Management

Are you looking for culinary schools in Oklahoma that offer hospitality and restaurant management programs? Look no further than Platt College. Nursing - Associate of Science

Our Associate of Science - Nursing degree program is a transitional program designed to help Licensed Practical Nurses become Registered Nurses.

In this program you will be able to take the next step in your nursing career and with our hands-on training and the enhancement of your theoretical knowledge, you will be positioned with the education and training that major healthcare employers are seeking.

At the completion of this program you will qualified to sit for the NCLEX exam that is required for employment as a Registered Nurse in Oklahoma

Practical Nursing - PN

Have you been looking for practical nursing programs in Oklahoma? If so, consider choosing Platt College. We offer both diploma and degree programs in Practical Nursing!

Our Practical Nurse programs are designed to get you into a nursing career much sooner than most traditional educational routes take to enter a medical field. With this focused program, you will enhance your theoretical knowledge with hands-on training led by our experienced faculty.

Our Practical Nurse programs are designed to develop your patient care skills along with your theoretical knowledge. Combining your classroom learning with hands-on skills labs and real-world clinical rotations gives you the skill you need to get your career started.

Upon completion of any of our Practical Nursing programs, you will be eligible to sit for the NCLEX exam and work in settings such as private medical and nursing care facilities, home health care organizations, public hospitals and more.
